Poetry and Storytelling in West Seattle: Free, all ages, monthly series with a featured reader followed by open mic for stories and tales (short and tall).
This month’s reading is on Thanksgiving Eve and hopefully we will, post election, have much to be thankful for, especially that it will be finally over! Or will it be?
One of our featured readers will be Brandon Pitts, who I heard read at community mic last spring and was quite taken with his dramatic presence, some would say riveting.
Our other featured reader is Michael Hickey, a tenured professor at South Seattle College, whose stated life goal is to “take over the world 25 students at a time”, a laudable goal from my vantage point.
Siggie The Vintage Man; solo acoustic performer in the Americana style that sings 85% covers and 15% originals, some artists covered; Dylan, Prine, Van Zant, Cohen and the Eagles
Ukestra Seattle (US!), under the direction of Sunga Rose, is a group of ukulele musicians who are dedicated to bringing the joy and musicality of the ukulele to audiences everywhere. This 14-member ensemble plays a variety of music, from classical works by Beethoven, Tchaikovsky and Brahms, to original renditions and sing-along favorites from the 1940s, ‘50s, ‘60s and beyond. Members have a variety of experience on the ukulele and other instruments and have all been brought together by their love of this 4-stringed underdog of the music world.

Jim Page singer-songwriter: After seeing him perform at the High Sierra Music Festival in the summer of ‘97, Rob Bleetstein of Gavin wrote: “Jim Page is a lyrical genius with a guitar. This man personifies the word ‘free-flow.’ Page takes to the mic and the song invents itself on the spot; his talent is a natural wonder.” http://www.nodepression.com/profile/JimPage
Radiator Charlie’s Mortgage Lifters and we play a fun mix of 20s, 30s, and 40s swing music. It’s acoustic, light, and full of laughs.
