The Classic Novels (and Movies) Book Club of West Seattle

We begin each time with a fun trivia quiz–the winner receives a prize !–which raises issues and themes of interest. After one hour or so of free-range discussion on the book, we turn to the future, and collectively propose titles and choose one to read. If people haven’t had a chance to read that month’s book, they can come around 4pm and get in on the next month’s choice.

The next meeting of the West Seattle Classic Novels (and Movies) book club will be Sunday June 26, 3–4:30pm.

Topic:  Honoré Balzac, Père Goriot (1834-35), translated as Père Goriot or Old Goriot. (The Oxford translation by A.J. Krailsheimer is excellent, btw.)
