The 2022 Washington State Book Awards finalists were recently announced, and two West Seattle-based authors are among them! “Rooted: Life at the Crossroads of Science, Nature, and Spirit” by Lyanda Lynn Haupt (Little, Brown) is a finalist in the Creative Nonfiction category, and “Orca Rescue! The true story of an orphaned orca named Springer” by Donna Sandstrom (Kids Can Press) is a finalist for Books for Young Readers. Winners will be announced September 13th.

Join us for this first-ever joint appearance by Lyanda and Donna and help celebrate this achievement! Both authors will give readings from their nominated works, and be available to sign books. Paper Boat Booksellers will be selling books onsite.
